FSMSSA Employee Promotions

In February 2014, Robert Carlos (RC) began working at the FSMSSA as the Tax Assistant Officer. He had assisted the Tax Division in carrying out the duties of the division for years. Within the years he applied for another position in the Claims Division and was hired the Claim Analyst. As per duties differ in these Divisions, RC had different work experiences within the program divisions , which led him best qualified to be the new Claim Officer. Along with the qualities he possess and his work performance over the years, he had been promoted to be Claim Officer in May 2019. The Claim Officer reports directly to the FSMSSA Deputy Administrator. Responsibilities are to ensure that all claims made on FSM Social Security are processed in an entirely equitable, competent and on timely manner and that all beneficiaries of FSMSSA are treated strictly in accordance with the FSM laws and FSMSSA policies, processes, procedures and practices. The program looks forward to achieving its goals in terms referred to dealing with Claims within the Social Security System entrusting the work of this young man productively.

Briona Halverson had been with the program for over 10 years now. She began her experience with the FSMSSA Accounting Division as the Account Analyst. She had excelled with her duties in that division serving the program in so many years. With winds of change, she wanted to explore more and serve another division. Therefore, beginning May she started a new experience in the Claims Division as the Claim Analyst. The claim analyst is to assist the Claim Officer in ensuring that all aspects of FSM Social Security law and FSM Social Security Administration policies and practices, which relate to claims and associated matters, are rigorously conformed to at all times. With the skills and knowledge she possess, she is able to take on the new experience serving the claims division for all FSMSSA beneficiaries. She feels happy to be continuing serving the system under new job goals and her interest will surely assist her in support of task completions. FSMSSA looks forward to receiving good results as all employees always strive for to be better serving the FSM citizens.

The Federated States of Micronesia Social Security  Administration is seeking for a qualified candidate to fill the position of an Executive Assistant at the Headquarters. This position reports directly to the FSMSSA Administrator,functionally to Deputy Administrator and, on occasions, to Board and Division Heads.

 

To assist and support FSM SocialSecurity Administration senior  management in ensuring the orderly, expeditious and timely operations of Headquarters and Branches and, as the Headquarters’ Receptionist,pres ent the  “Public Face” of the FSM Social Security  Administration in a courteous,supportive and pleasant manner to all inquirers including governments,institutions,private enterprises and the general public.

 

OBJECTIVES:

 

  1. Supply competent and prompt administrative support to the Administrator, Deputy Administrator and, as and where required,Board Members and Division Heads;
  2. 2. Present a confident,courteous and supportive attitude to all inquiries made and

visitors to Headquarters;

  1. Ensure that the inventory of office supplies for Headquarters and the Branches is maintained at an adequate level at all times and that office supplies are forwarded to the Branches in a timely manner;
  2. Type correspondence and documents accurately,cleanly and promptly;
  3. Schedule appointments for the Administrator and Deputy Administrator when and where required;
  4. 6. Sort all main benefit checks to the Branches efficiently;
  5. Prepare travel authorizations and make any related bookings required in a competent and prompt manner;
  6. Ensure that the Headquarters premises are kept in a clean,tidy and well-ordered manner;
  7. Keep the filing system up to date and ensure that files can be retrieved quickly and

correctly;

 

  1. Maintain an efficient and safe system,for recording and tracking correspondence and claims and for associated postage costs;
  2. Ensure that Board members received in a timely fashion all documents,and other

materials required,for Board meetings;

  1. 12. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education

At least two years of college, with secretarial and office administration content.

Experience

Two years’ experience in a large office environment.

Competency in basic computer applications: Microsoft Word,Excel and Email. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with others.

Good command of the  English language.

The Federated States of Micronesia Social Security Administration is seeking for a qualified candidate to fill the position of the Assistant Branch Manager for the Pohnpei State Branch Office. This position reports to the Pohnpei State Branch Manager. The aim of this position is to assist in ensuring that the requirements of FSM Social Security Law and FSM Social Security Administration policies, processes, procedures and practices are fully fulfilled at State level and that government’s and public’s understanding is good of what are the requirements and benefits of FSM Social Security Law, in particular for employers, employees and beneficiaries.

 

Nature of Work

 

  • To carry out competently, assiduously and promptly any task or job delegated by the Branch Manager and to act in his place, should he be absent for any reason;
  • Assist with the collection on a timely and competent basis of all necessary and relevant data on claims, tax collection, delinquent employers etc. for transmission to Headquarters for appropriate action;
  • As instructed by the Branch Manager, carry out any claim processing and data collection in a planned, logical and timely manner;
  • As instructed by the Branch Manager, carry out all necessary requirements involving any tax collection, receipts or banking;
  • As instructed by the Branch Manager, conduct any employer audits and delinquent employer follow-ups in a competent and planned way;
  • Practice good customer relations in dealing with all State level FSM Social Security Administration stakeholders;
  • Assist in keeping all concerned in the State well informed on the requirements and benefits under FSM Social Security laws, by means of a public information program using any and all media outlets available;
  • Assist in ensuring that tax collections are both properly undertaken and accounted for;
  • Ensure the correct distribution of benefit checks to beneficiaries in the State;
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 


Requirements of Work

 

Applicant must have an excellent work ethic, with at least three years experience in an office situation. As the position requires constant interaction with clients, applicant must have good customer relation skills and be well-versed in the usual productivity computer software.

 

Education Requirements

 

Position requires a Degree in Business Administration, preferably with a major in Accounting.
